Join the Arizona Initiative for Resilience and International Development and AIR International Programs for their 2023 Symposium. This full-day event will feature speakers from across the University of Arizona, TANGO International, USAID, Global Resilience Partnership, and the World Food Program, as well as other NGO and government partners. 

Register by November 3rd to:

  1. Hear from experts on the role that Universities can play in advancing resilience and addressing the world’s most pressing challenges. 
  2. Learn how you can get involved, identify funding opportunities, and connect with external partners to amplify your research towards resilient solutions. 
  3. Be a part of discussions at the forefront of today’s most pressing global challenges. 

 

This Symposium will feature a special recognition of Dr. Tim Finan’s contributions to research and education on development during his 43 year tenure at the University of Arizona.

Collaboration for a Resilient Future: Setting the Stage with Externa Insights

This session will feature remarks from AIRID’s external partners, including USAID, Global Resilience Partnership, World Food Programme and others. They will discuss the need for innovative ideas and evidence to address the critical challenges of the day and the role that Universities can play.

10:30am – 12:00pm 

UA Highlights from Collaborative Resilience Research Projects across the Globe

This panel will feature University of Arizona researchers who are currently taking part in AIRID supported research projects in connection with external partners around the globe.

Roundtable Discussions

During the session, participants will engage in discussions about the future of resilience and international development, and the role of University researchers in addressing global challenges. Discussions will cover provocative topics from the responsible use of AI to the debate over whether resilience can be measured.

This session will focus on the research, funding, and engagement activities that AIRID is bringing to campus. It will offer an opportunity for participants to learn more about how they may potentially get involved.
